BREAK DOWN OF THE COSTS YOU MIGHT EXPECT

On top of the daily rent a chair rate, you might expect to also pay the following. This is just an estimate of outgoings, please do your own research as well.

Accounting

Products / Colour

  • Colour set up costs could be from $500 - $1000. This ranges from provider to provider and you are able to choose any product company working at Blunt Edition. E.g Evo, Wella, L’Oreal etc. They all range in prices but hard costs expect to pay around $25 per colour client.

Consumables

  • Foil $30 per 500 piece box

  • Hair Ties etc

  • Testers / styling products

  • Basin Shampoo / Conditioner (could get this as a discount from your product company)

Equipment

  • Scissors

  • Heat Irons

  • Blow Dryer

  • Any other specialist equipment you use.

Public Liability Insurance

  • Approximately $100 per month estimate this is to cover public lliability, but you may also like to take out cover for your own equipment eg. scissors, products etc. We use Gallagher Insurance Brokers but there are a number of options out there.

Parking

What we provide

  • Workstation plus overflow workstation shared between stylists

  • Tea options, barista coffee (with Millers beans roasted across the road), selection of milks, oat, nut, soy, cold drinks such as beer, wine, coke, sprite for your clients

  • Rubbish and recycling facilities

  • Towels

  • Space on product shelf to display your products for sale

  • Climazone to use

  • Accessing to our marketing via newsletters, social media

  • Colour mixing bowls, brushes
